BRIEF HISTORY

Hi, I’m Marty and I’m the front person for Fox Safework Solutions. I’ve been involved in this field for pretty much all my working life, way before health and safety was even a ‘thing’ and certainly before it became fashionable to have health and safety in your job title.

Immediately prior to starting this company I was the National Manager of Wellness and Safety for the NZ Police, one of NZ’s biggest and most challenging roles for an H&S professional. The two and ‘a bit’ years executive level role lifted my game and I relished being involved in governance and leadership efforts right across Police. I can demonstrate a unique, broad ranging and extensive knowledge of practical health, safety and wellbeing that I wish to share with employers who care about their people.

In November 2018 I accepted a part-time Tier 3 (senior manager) role with Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) as they go through a significant transformation and organisational change brought about by the merging of 40 organisations into one entity.  Managing a team of specialists in safety health and wellbeing (SHW) and Injury Management, this role connects across all parts of the public sector.

I’m passionate about this. I’ve been exposed to enough tragic and preventable results of poor leadership, lack of accountability, inadequate systems of work, and bad culture to last me a lifetime. I’ve worked in organisations and industries where risk is real, and consequences fatal if not managed. I’ve dedicated my life to serving my community and to helping people to stay safe and well.

Fiona Rogers

(Director and Part Time Administrator)

Hi, I’m Fi and I help Marty out with the administration side of the business. In recent years I’ve worked in administration roles for Corrections, the Parole Board, and more recently as EA to the Executive Director of the NZ Law Society. I share Marty’s passion for keeping people safe and well and am happy to help you with your inquiry.
